ISLANDS. Architecture and Landscape of Water

The Università IUAV di Venezia, in collaboration with UNISCAPE organizes a special edition of W.A.Ve design workshops dedicated to Landscape as a Project starting from the experience of Architecture, on the occasion of the 20 years anniversary of the European Landscape Convention (2000-2020).
Protagonists of W.A.Ve 2020 will be various ISLANDS of the World, for which there will be defined projects capable of constructing narratives and at the same time responding to environmental and survival problems of water lands, putting into play new perspectives for sustainable transformation.
For the W.A.Ve 2020 edition, 26 design workshops will be organised in order to investigate these issues during an intensive three-weeks work, from July 13 to 31 at the IUAV University in Venice, involving approximately 1300 students of degree courses in Architecture under the guidance of internationally renowned teachers and designers.
26 exhibitions will be set up in conclusion of the workshops, displaying the projects developed for the islands involved, followed by a collection of corresponding publications.
UNISCAPE is currently collecting expressions of interest in order to compile the panel of ISLANDS object of the design workshops.
