The 10th meeting of UNISCAPE General Assembly was held at the National University of Ireland Galway, on 29th June at 11.30 WET, in occasion of the International Conference “Landscape Values: Place and Praxis”
MAIN OUTCOMES
During the 2016 UNISCAPE General Assembly, held in Galway on 29th of June, the Director Bas Pedroli has expressed the Assembly acknowledgement for the outgoing Board Members -Annalisa Calcagno Maniglio, Florencio Zoido, Franco Zagari and Roberto Gambino- who has helped the Network for so many years.
The meeting has also been the occasion for the ELECTION OF THE ORGANS: by acclamation Juan Manuel Palerm has been confirmed president and Veerle Van EetVelde and Sasa Dobricic vice presidents.
It is still open the position of Director and candidates whose profile includes attitude to travel in Europe and strong commitment to landscape are welcome.
It has also been approved the proposal for following internal regulations within the Statute:
The LEGAL HEADQUARTERS will be preferably hosted by a University member for a period of several years. To facilitate the Network functioning, on the recommendation of the President, the Executive Board can also approve the establishment of secondary UNISCAPE offices at the seats of the President’s or Director’s institutions, or any other location depending on the demand and on the local financial and personnel conditions.
In order to simplify its functioning and ef?ciency, the daily management responsibilities of the EXECUTIVE BOARD shall be assumed by a MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE, consisting of the President, the two vice-Presidents and the Director. The Management Committee may invite other Executive Board members to full?l speci?c tasks. The Committee shall de?ne a division of management tasks within two months after the General Assembly each year, to be communicated to the UNISCAPE membership. The Management Committee is presided by the President and reports to the Executive Board.
The FUNCTIONS OF THE PRESIDENT are finally defined. In consultation with the Management Committee he assumes the following functions:
– legally represents the association;
– assumes ?nancial responsibility of the association:
– proposes and delegates speci?c tasks to the Management Committee of the Executive Board;
– proposes overall objectives and strategies for each year of his/her presidency in the General Assembly, reporting on the results in the next General Assembly;
– promotes the pro-active commitment of the delegates of the Member Universities as delegated by the legal representative of their University or Department, in the activities and functioning of the UNISCAPE network.
For the General Assembly in 2017, it has been welcomed the proposal advanced by Anna Tietjen (University of Copenhagen). Her Department, actually working on projects in line with the ELC and Uniscape, could be the right platform for the future meeting focusing on “Future Landscape”, which will be possibly held from the 25th to the 28th of June.
